## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE AIRCRAFT WAS REPOSITIONING FROM MARIANNA, FLORIDA TO EUFAULA, ALABAMA VERY EARLY IN THE MORNING, JUST BEFORE DAWN. WITH JUST THE CREW ON BOARD, THE CREW WAS CLEARED FOR A VISUAL APPROACH AND CANCELLED THE IFR FLIGHT PLAN. THERE WAS A THIN LAYER OF FOG OR MIST AROUND THE EUFAULA, AIRPORT. THE AIRCRAFT CIRCLED FOR RUNWAY 36. ON CLOSE FINAL, THE LANDING LIGHTS WERE TURNED TO THE ON POSITION AND THEN TURNED OFF BECAUSE OF THE GLARE. THE TAXI LIGHT WAS THEN TURNED TO THE ON POSITION. A SWOOSHING NOISE WAS HEARD AS THE AIRCRAFT WENT THROUGH SOME TREES ON THE APPROACH TO THE RUNWAY. A FLIGHT CHECK WITH THE PILOT AND AN FAA INSPECTOR HAS BEEN ACCOMPLISHED ON 10/09/2001, AND WAS SATISFACTORILY ACCOMPLISHED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
