## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT LOST ELECTRICAL POWER. PILOT PERFORMED EMERGENCY LANDING GEAR EXTENSION AND LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. AFTER DEPARTING THE RUNWAY THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO A STOP. WHEN APPLYING POWER TO TAXI, THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED STRIKING THE PROPELLER AND LOWER ENGINE COWLING. INSPECTION REVEALED THAT THE NOSE GEAR DOWN LOCK LINK WAS STIFF AND GRITTY. THE EMERGENCY EXTENSION ALLOWS THE GEAR TO FREE FALL TO THE DOWN AND LOCKED POSITION. WITH THE DOWN LOCK LINK STIFF AND GRITTY, THE FREE FALL OF THE NOSE GEAR DID NOT COMPLETELY FORCE THE LINK OVERCENTER, THEREFORE NOT PROVIDING A POSITIVE DOWNLOCK. WHEN POWER WAS APPLIED, THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
