## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON SEPTEMBER 30, 2001, AT APPROXIMATELY 12:55 PM, MR. ROBERT F. FARMER, A COMMERCIAL PILOT, MADE A FORCED LANDING 1.5 MILES S.W. OF LAWTON, OK. MUNICIPAL AIRPORT. SHORTLY AFTER TAKE-OFF, AT APPROXIMATELY 500 FT. AGL, THE ENGINE OF THIS EXPERIMENTAL RANS S-7 COURIER, STOPPED RUNNING WITH NO ADVANCED INDICATIONS OF ABNORMAL ENGINE SYMPTOMS. THE AIRCRAFT WAS FORCE LANDED IN A SMOOTH FIELD, AT WHICH TIME THE AIRCRAFT WAS ABRUPTLY STEERED AWAY FROM A FENCE, CAUSING EXCESSIVE STRAIN ON THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR. THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE PILOT OR THE OTHER OCCUPANT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
