## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) WITNESS STATED THAT THE GYROCOPTER BOUNCED ON LANDING AND ROLLED ON LEFT SIDE AND THE ROTOR BLADES AND PROPELLER STRUCK THE GROUND. PILOT REPORTS HE DID BOUNCE ON LANDING BUT RECOVERED AND TAXIED TO A STOP. HE THEN ATTEMPTED A LEFT TAXIING TURN WITH FULL ROTOR RPM TO THE LEFT AND THE GYROCOPTER ROLLED OVER ON ITS RIGHT SIDE, DUE TO THE GYROSCOPIC EFFECT OF THE ROTOR SYSTEM. THE ONLY DAMGE WAS TO THE ROTOR BLADES AND ONE PROPELLER BLADE. THE PILOT STATED HE SHUT OFF THE ENGINE PRIOR TO ROLL OVER SO THE PROP WAS NOT TURNING WHEN IT HIT THE GROUND. PARTS FOR REPAIR UNAVAILABLE UNTIL 05/02. AT THIS TIME PILOT IS GOING TO TRAILER GYROCOPTER TO RON'S GYRO IN SCARCY, AK FOR FLIGHT TESTING AND TRAINING. MR. SCARCY IS A DPE FOR GYROCOPTERS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
