## Narrative

(-23) PILOT LEVELLED OFF TOO HIGH DURING LANDING, STALLED AND LANDED HARD. THE AIRCRAFT'S LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED AND THERE WAS DAMAGE TO THE FIREWALL.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB FTW02TA007](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/FTW02TA007), Oct 3, 2001: Cessna A185F (N727), Houma, LA, substantial damage. Probable cause: the pilot's high flare, which resulted in a hard landing.

## Other reports on N727 (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19830701036349I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19830701036349I), Jul 1, 1983: Cessna A185F (N727), Sioux Falls, SD, Minor damage. Faulty regulator caused electric failure. Bump on landing tore loose hydraulic gear acuator. Collapsing left gear.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
