## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING TRAINING FOR A COMMERCIAL CERTIFICATION, THE STUDENT PILOT WAS PERFORMING HIS THIRD TOUCH AND GO. WHEN FULL POWER WAS APPLIED, THE AIRCRAFT FISHTAILED AS THE INSTRUCTOR PILOT RAISED THE FLAPS. IMMEDIATELY, THE PROPELLER STARTED STRIKING THE GROUND AND THE AIRCRAFT SETTLED ON ITS BELLY. INSPECTION OF THE LANDING GEAR SHOWED NO DAMAGE TO THE GEAR WITH MINIMAL ABRASION OF THE EXTERIOR SKIN OF THE NOSE GEAR DOORS. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE FLAPS WITH MINIMAL DAMAGE TO THE BELLY LONGITUDINAL STRINGERS AND WING SPAR CAP. INSPECTION OF THE LANDING GEAR SELECTOR (ELECTRICAL TYPE) REVEALED IT HAD A POSITIVE DETENT IN BOTH THE GEAR UP OR DOWN POSITIONS. THE LANDING GEAR OPERATED NORMALLY WHEN THE AIRCRAFT WAS RAISED OFF THE GROUND AND THE GEAR WAS EXTENDED. THE PROPELLER WAS UNDER FULL POWER AS IT STRUCK THE RUNWAY UNTIL THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST ON ITS BELLY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
