## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE AIRCRAFT WAS TAXIING IN AFTER LANDING AND HAD STOPPED TO YIELD TO ANOTHER AIRCRAFT ON AN INTERSECTING TAXIWAY (PER ATC INSTRUCTIONS), WHEN IT WAS STRUCK FROM BEHIND BY A TAXIING SNJ-6, N453WA, THAT HAD LANDED JUST AFTER THE 172. THE SNJ-6 PIC REPORTED THAT HE INITIALLY HAD THE TAXIING 172 IN SIGHT AFTER LANDING, BUT LOST SIGHT OF IT WHEN HE TURNED OFF THE RUNWAY AFTER IT. THE SNJ-6 PIC STATED THE HE CONTIUED TAXIING BECAUSE HE HAD "ASSUMED" THE 172 WAS CONTINUING TO TAXI. THE COLLISION OCCURRED BEFORE THE SNJ-6 PIC COULD REESTABLISH VISUAL CONTACT WITH THE 172. THE SNJ-6 SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE, WHILE THE TAIL OF THE 172 SUSTAINED STRUCTURAL DAMAGE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. (ADDITIONAL INFORMATION CONTAINED IN RELATED 8020-23 FOR SNJ-6, N453WA).
