## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AT APPROXIMATELY 1910 UTC ON OCTOBER 24, 2001, WHILE ON A REVENUE FLIGHT FROM CLEVELAND TO CHICAGO O'HARE, THE APPROPRIATELY CERTIFICATED AND RATED PILOT ELECTED TO DIVERT TO PEORIA (PIA) DUE TO WEATHER. A FEW MINUTES LATER THE PIC DECLARED AN EMERGENCY DUE TO THE SMELL OF SMOKE IN THE CABIN AND COCKPIT. THE PIC MADE AN UNEVENTFUL LANDING AT PIA, STOPPED THE AIRCRAFT ON RUNWAY 31 AT 1935 UTC AND DEPLANED THE 29 PASSENGERS AND CREW ON THE RUNWAY THROUGH THE MAIN CABIN DOOR WITHOUT INJURY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
