## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 10/25/01, AIRCRAFT DEPARTED BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS ENROUTE TO MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE. DURING FLIGHT AT 10,000 MSL THE WEATHER WAS VERY TURBULENT. AT THIS POINT, OWNER NOTICED THE LEFT WINGLET HAD SEPARATED FROM THE AIRCRAFT. OWNER THEN NOTIFIED THE PIC AND PREPARATIONS WERE MADE TO LAND THE AIRCRAFT AT A SUITABLE LOCATION. A DECISION WAS LATER MADE TO LAND THE AIRCRAFT AT AVP (WILKES-BARRE/SRANTON AIRPORT, PA). AIRCRAFT LANDED AT AVP WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
