## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ENGINE LOST POWER DURING CLIMB OUT FROM CLARENDON AIRPORT. PILOT COULD NOT RECOVER THE ENGINE AND MADE A FORCED LANDING AT NIGHT IN A RAVINE 3 MILES SOUTHWEST OF THE AIRPORT. THE ENGINE QUIT SUDDENLY AND THE PILOT COULD NOT RESTART IT. NO REASON FOR THE FAILURE HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED AT THIS TIME. THE NTSB IS TRYING TO SCHEDULE AN ENGINE RUN AND/OR A TEARDOWN. THERE WERE NO INJURIES OR FIRE, BUT THE RIGHT WING WAS DAMAGED BY COLLISION WITH SOME SMALL TREES.
