## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE AIRCRAFT WAS ENROUTE FROM PIERRE, SD TO INDIANAPOLIS, IN AT 23000 FT WHEN THE CABIN STARTED TO FILL WITH SMOKE. THE PILOT DECLARED AN EMERGENCY 20 MILES NORTHEAST OF PEORIA, IL AT 302120Z. THE AIRCRAFT DIVERTED TO THE GREATER PEORIA AIRPORT (KPIA) AND LANDED ON RUNWAY 13 WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE AIRCRAFT TAXIED OFF THE RUNWAY (NOT CLEAR OF THE RUNWAY) AND THE 5 PERSONS ON BOARD DEPLANED THE AIRCRAFT. EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT WAS AT THE SCENE. INSPECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT BY BYERLY AVIATION REVEALED THAT THE CABIN VENTILATION BLOWER HAD FAILED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
