## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) STUDENT PILOT WAS RETURNING TO DALTON, GA (DNN) FROM CROSSVILLE, TN (CSV) ON A CROSS-COUNTRY SOLO FLIGHT. HE REPORTED MADE A HARD LANDING, NOSE FIRST, ONTO RUNWAY 32 CAUSING THE AIRPLANE TO PORPOISE, COLLAPSING THE NOSE LANDING GEAR IN THE PROCESS. A SEGMENT OF THE ENGINE MOUNT IS BROKEN AND ANOTHER SEGMENT IS BENT. THERE ALSO APPEARS TO BE DAMAGE TO THE FIREWALL AND STRUCTURAL DAMAGE JUST FORWARD OF THE WINDSHIELD, AS EVIDENT BY WRINKLING OF THE SKIN SURFACE. THE PROPELLER IS "Q-TIPPED" AS A RESULT OF STRIKING THE GROUND.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
