## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) MR. KANAVEL AND HIS INSTRUCTOR CONDUCTED 3 TOUCH AND GO LANDINGS ON RUNWAY 28 AT THE FAIRFIELD COUNTY AIRPORT, LANCASTER, OHIO. AFTER THE LAST LANDING, MR. KANAVEL'S INSTRUCTOR EXITED THE AIRCRAFT TO ALLOW HIM TO PRACTICE ADDITIONAL SOLO LANDINGS. MR. KANAVEL COMPLETED 1 TOUCH AND GO LANDING WITHOUT INCIDENT. ON HIS SECOND LANDING APPROACH, THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED-DOWN AND IMMEDIATELY BECAME AIRBORNE AGAIN. THE AIRCRAFT SETTLED TO THE RUNWAY AGAIN, BOUNCING INTO THE AIR AND COMING DOWN A THIRD TIME ON THE NOSE GEAR. THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK THE RUNWAY IN A NOSE DOWN ATTITUDE DAMAGING THE NOSE GEAR AND PROPELLER. WIND CONDITIONS OF 200 DEGREES AT 8 KNOTS WERE REPORTED AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
