## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT WAS CONDUCTING AN ILS 22 APPROACH AT NIGHT. AFTER TOUCHDOWN PILOT SPOTTED SOMETHING ON THE RUNWAY BUT HAD NO TIME TO AVOID IT. AIRCRAFT HIT DEER ON LEFT PROPELLER. ONE BLADE COMPLETELY SEPARATED AND WAS THROWN APPROXIMATELY 300 FEET INTO FIELD. SECOND BLADE WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED. PILOT SHUT DOWN ENGINE IMMEDIATELY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB NYC02LA023](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/NYC02LA023), Nov 2, 2001: Beech 1900C (N210CJ), Bar Harbor, ME, substantial damage. Probable cause: A deer, which had been crossing the runway as the airplane touched down. A factor was the dark night conditions.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
