THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES RESPONDED AND THERE WAS NO DAMAGE REPORTED TO THE AIRCRAFT. CONTACTED OWNER ON NOVEMBER 19, 2001, AND HE STATED THE AIRCRAFT WAS DISASSEMBLED AND REMOVED FROM THE LOCATION. HE STATED HE WAS IN CRUISE FLIGHT WHEN THE PROBLEM OCCURRED AND THAT WEATHER WAS NOT A FACTOR. THE OWNER ALSO STATED THAT A STUCK EXHAUST VALVE WAS THE CONTRIBUTING FACTOR TO THE MALFUNCTION. SUBMISSION OF THIS REPORT CLOSES THIS INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
