## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON NOVEMBER 20, 2001 A CE-207-A AIRCRAFT, N75941, BEING OPERATED BY ALASKA CENTRAL EXPRESS INC., WAS ON A RETURN FLIGHT TO KOTZEBUE, ALASKA FROM PT. HOPE, ALASKA. DURING THE FLIGHT THE PILOT HAD TO USE EXCESSIVE RUDDER CONTROL TO KEEP THE AIRCRAFT STRAIGHT. THE PILOT THOUGHT THE PROBLEM WAS WITH THE NOSE GEAR ASSEMBLY, AND PLANNED TO MAKE A SOFT FIELD LANDING AT KOTZEBUE AIRPORT ON RWY-35. WHEN THE AIRCRAFT LANDED IN KOTZEBUE AT ABOUT 1704 LOCAL TIME, THE AIRCRAFT TURNED TO THE LEFT AND WENT OVER A SMALL SNOW BANK ON THE EDGE OF THE RUNWAY, AND CAME TO REST ABOUT 200 FEET DOWN THE RUNWAY AND ABOUT 20 FEET TO THE LEFT OF THE RUNWAY. THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED AFTER HITTING THE SNOW BANK AND THE PROPELLER, RIGHT WING TIP AND TAIL SKID RECEIVED MINOR DAMAGE. THE PILOT WAS THE SOLE OCCUPANT ON BOARD THE AIRCRAFT AND WAS NOT INJURED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
