## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED AT A PRIVATE STRIP LOCATED AT 868 HAPPY VALLEY CIRCLE, NEWNAN, GA. THE PLANE WAS LANDING TO THE NE AND THE STRIP WAS APPROXIMATELY 600 FEET LONG. THE LEFT WING DRUG THE GROUND FOR ABOUT 50 FEET AND THEN THE AIRCRAFT WENT AIRBORNE. WITNESSES STATED THAT THE PILOT HAD ADDED POWER FOR A GO-AROUND BECAUSE THEY HEARD THE ENGINES POWER UP. THE AIRCRAFT VEERED LEFT AND STRUCK A METAL FENCE POST AND TORN 3 SMALL HOLES IN THE LEFT UNDER-WING SKIN ABOUT 6 TO 12 INCHES FROM THE TIP OF THE WING. THE PLANE PROCEEDED ON A HEADING APPROXIMATELY 25 DEGREES TO THE LEFT OF THE RUNWAY HEADING. THE RIGHT WING STRUCK TWO SMALL PINE TREES AND THE PLANE SPUN AROUND THE FRONT OF THE FUSELAGE STRUCK A HARDWOOD TREE. THAT IMPACT BROKE THE FRONT OF THE COCKPIT OPEN KILLING THE PILOT AND SERIOUSLY INJURING THE PASSENGER. ACCORDING TO WITNESSES BOTH ENGINES WERE OPERATING. THE WINDS WERE CALM AND THE WEATHER CLEAR AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
