## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE STUDENT PILOT WAS ON A LOCAL SOLO FLIGHT AT SHOW LOW AIRPORT, SHOW LOW, AZ. HE WAS ATTEMPTING TO LAND ON RUNWAY 21. HE "CAUGHT A X-WIND, TRIED TO POWER OUT, BUT COULDN'T." THE RUNWAY SHOWS A WHITE MARK WHERE THE WINGTIP HIT, FOLLOWED BY THREE BLACK MARKS FROM THE TIRES, A GOUGE FROM THE NOSE STRUT, PROP MARKS, AND FINALLY A DIRT TRENCH MADE BY THE NOSE STRUT OFF THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY, WHERE THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST. NOSEWHEEL BROKE OFF (THE UPPER PORTION OF THE STRUT REMAINS), PROP/ENGINE COWL DAMAGE, AND APPROXIMATELY THREE FEET OF LEFT WING WRINKLED (MEASURED FROM THE WINGTIP INBOARD).

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
