## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE AIRCRAFT'S INITIAL CONTACT WAS APPROXIMATELY 500' FROM THE APPROACH END OF RUNWAY 4. THE SKID MARKS OF THE TIRES START AT 51" CENTER TO CENTER AND RAPIDLY DIMINISH TO 46" CENTER TO CENTER. (THE NORMAL WIDTH OF THE MAIN LANDING GEAR ON THIS AIRCRAFT IS 108") THESE SKID MARKS CONTINUE DOWN THE RUNWAY FOR APPROXIMATELY 500' AND THEN VEER TO THE LEFT INTO THE INFIELD, WHERE THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST. THE MAIN WHEELS WERE IN THE WELLS AND THE LANDING GEAR CONTROL HANDLE WAS IN THE DOWN POSITION. WITH POWER APPLIED THE GEAR UNSAFE HORN SOUNDED. WHEN THE AIRCRAFT WAS LIFTED AND POWER APPLIED THE MAIN LANDING GEARS WENT TO THE DOWN AND LOCKED POSITION, THE HORN WENT OFF AND THE GREEN "GEAR SAFE" LIGHT CAME ON. THE NOSE LANDING GEAR HAD REMAINED DOWN AND LOCKED THE ENTIRE TIME, ELIMINATING ANY GROUND CONTACT BY THE PROPELLER, OR A SUDDEN STOPPAGE OF THE ENGINE.

Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
