## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE AIRCRAFT WAS TAXIING EASTBOUND ON CVG DELTA RAMP BETWEEN SPOT 2C AND SPOT 3 ON THE NORTH LINE BETWEEN CONCOURSE A AND B. THE AIRCRAFT WAS APPROACHING THE RAMP ROAD THAT RUNS NORTH AND SOUTH NEAR THE WEST SIDE OF A CONCOURSE. THE PILOT OBSERVED A TUG CROSSING THE RAMP ROAD. THE TUG FAILED TO YIELD TO THE AIRCRAFT AND IMPACTED WITH THE AIRCRAFT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB NYC02LA047](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/NYC02LA047), Jan 8, 2002: Swearingen SA-227-AT (N556UP), Covington, KY, substantial damage. Probable cause: the tug driver's inadequate visual lookout which resulted in his failure to see the airplane in time to prevent the collision.

## Other reports on N556UP (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19881213066149I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19881213066149I), Dec 13, 1988: Swrngn SA227AT (N556UP), Grand Forks, ND, Minor damage. Aborted takeoff on rotation because aircraft did not feel right. Veered left. Struck runway light no malfunction.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
