## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AFTER SITTING OVERNIGHT IN A REMOTE LOCATION, IT APPEARS THAT MOISTURE COLLECTED IN THE AIR INTAKES OF THE ENGINES. THE PILOT AND THE LOCAL FIRE CHIEF CLEANED WET SNOW OFF OF THE AIRCRAFT PRIOR TO ENGINE START AND INSURED TO THE BEST OF THEIR ABILITY THAT THE INLETS WERE CLEAR. THE PILOT RAN THE ENGINES FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD ON THE GROUND AND IN A HOVER PRIOR TO DEPARTURE. AFTER TAKEOFF, THE LEFT ENGINE FAILED. WHILE RETURNING TO LAND AND JUST STARTING TO DECELERATE PRIOR TO THE FLAIR, THE RIGHT ENGINE FAILED. AN AUTO-ROTATION WAS ATTEMPTED. THE AIRCRAFT HIT WITH LITTLE FORWARD SPEED AND ALMOST NO ROTOR RPM.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
