## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON MONDAY, JANUARY 21, 2002, THE CAPTAIN OF A B-737-832, N381DN, OPERATED BY DELTA AIRLINES, INC., NOTICED THE OIL FILTER BYPASS LIGHT ILLUMINATING ON THE LEFT ENGINE AFTER TAKEOFF FROM THE ROCHESTER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. THE AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO ROC AND LANDED ON RUNWAY 22. THE ARFF RESPONDED AND THE AIRCRAFT TAXIED TO THE RAMP WITHOUT INCIDENT. MAINTENANCE REMOVED AND REPLACED THE SCAVENGE FILTER ON THE #1 ENGINE. THEY REMOVED THE 2ND REPLACEMENT SUPPLY FILTER AND RAN THE ENGINE TO FULL POWER FOR TWO MINUTES. THEY RE-CHECKED THE SCAVENGE FILTER AND NO DEBRIS WAS FOUND. AFTER CLOSING AND SECURING THE ENGINE COWL, THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE. THIS INCIDENT IS CONSIDERED CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
