(-23) WHILE ENROUTE FROM SALLSBURY, NC TO AKRON, OH (AKR) AT 23000 AGL, PILOT DECLARED AN EMERGENCY OVER CHARLESTON, WV, VORTAC (HVQ) DUE TO LOSS OF CABIN PRESSURE AT 1811L. THE PILOT MADE AN EMERGENCY DESCENT TO 11000 AND CONTINUED TO THE INTENDED DESTINATION WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT, AND LANDED AT AKR AT 1849L. SUBSEQUENT INVESTIGATION OF THE AIRCRAFT PRESSURIZATION SYSTEM REVEALED THAT THE BLEED AIR PRESSURE REGULATOR FAILED, RESULTING IN THE LOSS OF CABIN PRESSURE. THE FAILED UNIT WAS REPLACED WITH A SERVICEABLE OVERHAULED UNIT, AND THE SYSTEM WAS OPERATIONAL TESTED AND FOUND TO BE FUNCTIONAL. A TEST FLIGHT WAS PERFORMED AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE. AN M OR D REPORT WILL BE SUBMITTED IN REFERENCE TO THIS EVENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
