## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) WITNESSES CONFIRM THAT AFTER A NORMAL LANDING, AS THE AIRCRAFT TURNED TO EXIT THE ACTIVE RUNWAY, THE LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED. FURTHER INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT THE PILOT INADVERTENTLY RAISED THE GEAR DURING ROLL OUT, BUT DID NOT REMEMBER DOING IT. THE LANDING GEAR SWITCH WAS OBSERVED IN THE UP POSITION.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB NYC02LA072](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/NYC02LA072), Feb 23, 2002: Piper PA-24-260 (N9055P), Atlantic City, NJ, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to lower the landing gear prior to landing.

## Other reports on N9055P (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 20000630034789I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/20000630034789I), Jun 30, 2000: Piper PA24260 (N9055P), Montgomery, NY, Minor damage. (-23) Student pilot was flying solo at night without an endorsement to do so. Aircraft stalled and landed nose wheel first, destroying the nose gear and prop.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
