## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 03/04/02, AT 15:18 EST, ENROUTE FROM ST. LOUIS (STL) TO NORFOLK, VA (ORF), THE CAPTAIN ON FLIGHT 2780 OBSERVED A LOW HYDRAULIC FLUID WARNING LIGHT AFTER PASSING THE ROANOKE, VIRGINIA AIRPORT (ROA). THE CAPTAIN DECLARED AN EMERGENCY TO ATC AND PROCEEDED TO ORF. THE CREW LOWERED THE LANDING GEAR AND MADE AN UNEVENTFUL LANDING. THE AIRCRAFT WAS THEN TOWED TO THE RAMP FOR FURTHER INVESTIGATION BY MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL. FURTHER INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT A HYDRAULIC HARD LINE HAD A SPLIT NEAR THE "B" NUT CONNECTION LOCATED AT THE RIGHT ENGINE PYLON BULKHEAD.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
