## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 03-09-02 AT 0530 MDT, A PIPER PA-28-140 PILOTED BY JAMES R. LEE, CERTIFICATE #516909009, LANDED ON RUNWAY 21 AT THE PRESTON MUNICIPAL AIRPORT. DURING HIS LANDING ROLL HE ENCOUNTERED SNOW DRIFTS DIAGONAL TO THE RUNWAY OF 1 TO 2 INCHES DEEP. THE DRIFTS WERE ONLY ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. MR. LEE APPLIED RIGHT BRAKE AND RUDDER PRESSURE BUT FOUND HE COULD NOT STRAIGHTEN HIS AIRCRAFT TO THE CENTER LINE. EVENTUALLY THE AIRCRAFT ROLLED OFF THE RUNWAY INTO A SNOW BANK ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT INCLUDED A COLLAPSED BROKEN NOSE GEAR, BENT PROPELLER, DAMAGED WHEEL SKIRTS FOR BOTH NOSE AND LEFT MAIN GEAR. NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
