## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) FIVE MINUTES BEFORE LANDING ON RUNWAY 18, THE WIND WAS RECORDED AT 260 DEGREES, 32 KNOTS GUSTING TO 39 KNOTS. ON SHORT FINAL APPROACH THE TOWER REPORTED WIND AT 230 DEGREES AT 30 KNOTS. THE PILOT CHOSE TO LAND WITH THE EXTREME CROSSWIND CONDITION, HOWEVER HIS SKILL WAS NOT ADEQUATE FOR THE STRONG GUSTY CROSSWIND CONDITIONS. THE PILOT LOST CONTROL AND HIT A RUNWAY LIGHT WHILE LANDING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
