## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON SUNDAY, MARCH 31, 2002, AT 1130 LOCAL TIME, THE AIRCRAFT WAS LANDING ON RWY 31, AT BENNINGTON, VT, WHEN IT LOST DIRECTIONAL CONTROL AND VEERED TO THE LEFT ABOUT 700' FROM THE THRESHOLD. THE AIRCRAFT PROCEEDED AT A 45 DEGREE ANGLE AWAY FROM THE RUNWAY AND AFTER LEAVING THE SAFETY AREA (75' FROM BOTH SIDES OF THE CENTERLINE) THE AIRCRAFT WENT DOWN A SLIGHT EMBANKMENT, THEN FLIPPED OVER AND REMAINED 116' FROM THE CENTERLINE UPSIDE DOWN. THE PILOT SUFFERED A HAIRLINE FRACTURE TO HIS WRIST AND THE PASSENER WAS UNINJURED. THE PILOT HAD RECENTLY PURCHASED THE NEW AIRCRAFT FROM THE FACTORY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
