## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON APRIL 13, 2002 APPROXIMATELY 1600 CENTRAL DAYLIGHT TIME, A CESSNA 182A, N4090D, REGISTERED TO AND OPERATED BY A PRIVATE INDIVIDUAL WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED AT THE DEPARTURE END OF THE RUNWAY, WHEN THE AIRCRAFT CLIPPED TREES AND IMPACTED THE GROUND AT A PRIVATE GRASS AIRSTRIP LOCATED SIX MILES EAST OF CONWAY, ARKANSAS. THE PILOT SUSTAINED SERIOUS INJURIES AND HIS FOUR PASSENGERS WERE NOT INJURED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB FTW02LA121](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/FTW02LA121), Apr 13, 2002: Cessna 182A (N4090D), Conway, AR, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to land the airplane at a proper touchdown point on the runway and his delayed decision to initiate a go-around over high obstacles.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
