IT THEN BOUNCED BACK INTO THE AIR AND ROTATED 180 DEGREES AND LANDED ON THE NOSE AGAIN IN THE VERTICAL MODE AND CAME TO REST ON THE LEFT WING AND NOSE WHILE REMAINING THE VERTICAL ATTITUDE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ATL02LA085](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ATL02LA085), Apr 15, 2002: Pitts S1C (N91GD), Gainesville, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain clearance from the ground during an attempted go-around.

## Other reports on N91GD (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19920404012909I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19920404012909I), Apr 4, 1992: Amtrpt PITTSSPECS1C (N91GD), Lakeland, FL, Minor damage. Aircraft started to swerve on rollout. Pilot applied heavy braking. Aircraft nosed up.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
