## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 04/22/02 A BE-200, N26SJ, DEPARTED ON A FLIGHT FROM ST. PAUL DOWNTOWN HOLMAN FIELD, MINNESOTA, AT 1715 CDT, ENROUTE TO OUTAGAMIE COUNTY REGIONAL AIRPORT, APPLETON, WISCONSIN. DURING THE FLIGHT, AT 19,000 FEET, THEY LOST THE AIRSTAIR ENTRANCE DOOR AND LOST PRESSURIZATION. THE CREW DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND DIVERTED TO CHIPPEWA VALLEY REGIONAL AIRPORT, EAU CLAIRE, WISCONSIN AND LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND ONLY MINOR AIRCRAFT DAMAGE. THE CREW CLAIMED THAT THE AIRSTAIR ENTRANCE DOOR WAS LOCKED. THE AIRSTAIR ENTRANCE DOOR WAS FOUND APPROXIMATELY 30 NM NORTHWEST OF EAU CLAIRE, WI., BY A FARMER NEAR HILLSDALE, WI. WE FOUND THE DOOR IN A FULLY LOCKED CONDITION, JUST AS THE PILOT STATED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI02IA116](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI02IA116), Apr 22, 2002: Beech 200 (N26SJ), Hillsdale, WI, incident, minor damage. Probable cause: The fatigue failure of the passenger/crew door latch pin during cruise flight.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
