## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) UPON APPROACH INTO ALB, NOSE GEAR WOULD NOT LOCK IN THE DOWN POSITION, SUBSEQUENTLY THE NOSE GEAR FOLED ON LANDING. INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT THE BOLT AND NUT ATTACHING THE RETRACT ROD TO THE IDLER BELLCRANK BACKED OUT CAUSING THE IDLER BELLCRANK TO FAIL.

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19900215002739A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19900215002739A), Feb 15, 1990: Cessna T310R (N6186X), Chicago/Wheelin, IL, Substantial damage. Landing on wet compacted snow was pushed sideways by strong crosswind into snowbank on runway edge. Braking poor.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
