## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) MR. DEDOMINICIS STRUCK A PORTABLE HELICOPTER PAD WHILE TAXIING TO THE RAMP AREA AFTER LANDING AT ARLINGTON MUNICIPAL AIRPORT. THE NORMAL TAXIWAY WAS BLOCKED OFF DUE TO AIRPORT CONSTRUCTION REQUIRING AIRCRAFT TO DETOUR ACROSS AN AREA OF THE RAMP. THE PORTABLE HELICOPTER PAD IS USED BY THE OWNER OF AN R-22 HELICOPTER TO MOVE HIS AIRCRAFT IN AND OUT OF HIS HANGAR AND THE PAD WAS LEFT ON THE RAMP AREA AFTER THE OWNER DEPARTED IN HIS HELICOPTER. THE PAD HAD NO VISIBLE MARKINGS AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT AND THE PAD WAS PAINTED SUCH A COLOR AS TO BLEND IN WELL WITH THE CONCRETE RAMP AREA. MR. DEDOMINICIS AND HIS PASSENGER WERE UNABLE TO SEE THE PORTABLE PAD IN TIME CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE TO THE PROP, AND WHEEL PANTS OF MR. DEDOMINICIS'S AIRCRAFT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE OCCUPANTS OF THE AIRCRAFT OR OTHER PERSONS AS A RESULT OF THIS INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
