## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT MR. STANLEY, SAID HE FLEW THE AIRCRAFT FROM DAVID J. PERRY AIRPORT, GOLDSBY, OKLAHOMA, TO CHICKASHA, OKLAHOMA AIRPORT. HE LANDED TO A FULL STOP, THEN TAXIED BACK AND TOOK OFF. HE CLIMBED TO 3500 FT MSL, SIX TO EIGHT MILES EAST NORTHEAST OF CHICKASHA, AND ADJUSTED THE THROTTLE AND PROPELLER CONTROLS FOR 24/24. SHORTLY THEREAFTER THE PROPELLER OVER SPEEDED. THE PILOT PULLED BACK THE PROPELLER CONTROL AND TURNED TO RETURN TO CHICKASHA AIRPORT. HE REDUCED POWER WITH THE THROTTLE. THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING AT A SLOWER SPEED, SO HE TURNED AGAIN TO FLY TO DAVID J. PERRY AIRPORT. THEN HE HEARD THE ENGINE NOISE AND CHECKED THE OIL PRESSURE, WHICH WAS ZERO. HE TURNED TO RETURN TO CHICKASHA, AND THE ENGINE QUIT. THE PILOT LANDED THE AIRCRAFT IN A WHEAT FIELD ABOUT 8 MILES SOUTH OF AMBER, OKLAHOMA, ON THE EAST SIDE OF HIGHWAY 92. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT, THE PILOT WAS NOT INJURED, AND NO PASSENGERS WERE ABOARD.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
