## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON MAY 23, 2002, MR. MICHAEL J. BARE OPERATED CESSNA CE-500, N491PT, AS SINGLE PILOT IN COMMAND ON A CORPORATE FLIGHT FROM QUINCY, ILLINOIS, TO THE JOHNSON COUNTY EXECUTIVE AIRPORT (OJC). AT APPROXIMATELY 1620 CDT, WHILE LANDING ON RUNWAY 18 AT OJC, THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN TO HYDROPLANE AND WAS UNABLE TO STOP ON THE AVAILABLE RUNWAY. N491PT RAN OFF THE END OF THE RUNWAY AND STRUCK ONE RUNWAY END LIGHT. THE WEATHER REPORT AT THE TIME OF LANDING INDICATED THERE WERE THUNDERSTORMS AND RAIN IN PROGRESS. THE PILOT STATED HE HAD COMPUTED A NEW VREF SPEED FOR LANDING AND HAD RECALCULATED THE REQUIRED LANDING DISTANCE BASED ON THE PUBLISHED WET RUNWAY FACTOR. THIS AIRCRAFT HAS NO THRUST REVERSERS INSTALLED AND THE PILOT REPORTED THE MAIN GEAR TIRES WERE SOMEWHAT WORN. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE AIRCRAFT OCCUPANTS AND NO DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. THIS INCIDENT, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITT^ IS CLOSED. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
