## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT OF N6629E WHILE ENROUTE TO SANTA MONICA AIRPORT (SMO) FROM PALM SPRINGS AIRPORT (PSP) LOST ENGINE POWER AND MADE AN EMERGENCY LANDING ON THE 10 FREEWAY IN ALHAMBRA, CA. THERE WERE NO INJURIES IN THE AIRCRAFT OR ON THE GROUND.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX02LA180](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX02LA180), Jun 3, 2002: Cessna 172N (N6629E), Alhambra, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: the pilot's miscalculated fuel consumption, failure to verify the fuel supply on board, and his failure to refuel the airplane prior to takeoff, which resulted in fuel exhaustion.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
