## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING LANDING, AT ANWIN, CALIFORNIA THE PILOT IN COMMAND VEERED OFF THE RUNWAY AND COLLIDED WITH A BERM. THE PILOT STATED THAT A GUST OF WIND LIFTED THE LEFT WING OFF THE GROUND, AND THE RIGHT CONTACTED THE GROUND. THE PILOT WAS NOT INJURED AND AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX02LA185](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX02LA185), Jun 7, 2002: Cessna A185F (N714WH), Angwin, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadequate compensation for the wind conditions resulted in a loss of directional control and a ground loop/swerve.

## Other reports on N714WH (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19861019059709I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19861019059709I), Oct 19, 1986: Cessna A185F (N714WH), New Orleans, LA, Minor damage. During a light crosswind landing, aircraft veered off runway side and ground looped.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
