## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING CLIMB OUT FROM ASPEN AIRPORT PILOT RETRACTED THE LANDING GEAR AND HEARD A LOUD POP. GEAR INDICATION WAS THAT THE GEAR WAS UP HOWEVER THE PILOT NOTICED THAT THE AIRSPEED WAS LOWER THAN USUAL. PILOT FLEW BY ASPEN TOWER FOR A GEAR CHECK AND WAS TOLD THAT THE NOSE WHEEL WAS NOT RETRACTED. WHEN DOING ANOTHER FLY-BY ANOTHER AIRCRAFT AT THE END OF THE RUNWAY TOLD HIM THAT THE MAIN WHEELS WERE DOWN BUT NOT THE NOSE WHEEL. THE PILOT POSITIONED THE AIRCRAFT FOR A LANDING SHUTTING THE FUEL OFF ON SHORT FINAL. THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN ON THE MAIN WHEELS AND SETTLED DOWN ON THE NOSE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
