As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DEPARTED ANACONDA, MT (3U3) AT 0700 MDT ON A VFR FLIGHT TO JOHNSON CREEK AIRPORT, ID (3U2). WHILE ON SHORT FINAL APPROACH TO RUNWAY 17 AT JOHNSON CREEK APT, THE PILOT EXPERIENCED A SEVERE DOWN DRAFT JUST SHORT OF THE APPROACH END OF THE RUNWAY. ## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA02LA101](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA02LA101), Jun 15, 2002: Cessna 182Q (N4725N), Yellow Pine, ID, substantial damage. Probable cause: Compensation for wind conditions inadequate during the approach for landing. A downdraft was a factor.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
