## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT STATED THAT SHE WAS PARTICIPATING IN THE ALL WOMEN AIR RACE CLASSIC. ONE OF THE CHECK IN POINTS WAS FAYETTEVILLE, TN. SHE SAID THAT WHILE LANDING ON RUNWAY 20 AT FYM SHE WAS DISTRACTED BY MACHINERY OPERATING NEAR THE RUNWAY. SHE THEN ALLOWED THE AIRCRAFT TO INCREASE SPEED BY DIVING TOWARD THE RUNWAY. DURING THE RESULTING FLOAT DOWN THE RUNWAY LOSING THE EXCESS SPEED, SHE NOTED ANOTHER RACE PARTICIPANT ON A LOW FLY-BY UP RUNWAY 02. SHE ALLOWED THE AIRCRAFT TO LAND HARD AND BOUNCE. SHE STATED THAT SHE WAS AFRAID TO GO AROUND DUE TO THE APPROACHING HEAD-ON AIRCRAFT SO ALLOWED THE AIRPLANE TO PORPOISE WHEREON THE PROP STRUCK THE PAVEMENT. AFTER GAINING CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT SHE STOPPED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
