## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT MADE A NORMAL APPROACH TO SHENANDOAH VALLEY REG. AIRPORT (SHD). AFTER THE MAIN LANDING GEAR TOUCHED DOWN THE PILOT HEARD A LOUD NOISE AND HE DID A GO AROUND. HE RAISED THE LANDING AND NOTICED THE NOSE WHEEL GREEN LIGHT WAS NOT ILLUMINATED. ON THE SECOND LANDING HE HAD THREE GREEN LIGHTS AND MADE A NORMAL LANDING AND TAXIED TO THE RAMP. THE PROPELLER TIPS WERE DAMAGED ABOUT 3/4" ON EACH SIDE. INSPECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT AT SHD REVEALED THE HYDRAULIC FLUID LEVEL WAS AT THE FULL LEVEL IN THE LANDING GEAR PUMP UNIT RESERVOIR. THERE WERE NO APPRECIABLE HYDRAULIC LEAKS VISIBLE IN THE RETRACT/EXTEND SYSTEM. THE LANDING GEAR INDICATING SYSTEM INDICATED THREE LANDING GEARS DOWN AND LOCKED, AND ALL GEAR INDICATOR LAMPS WERE WORKING. THE GEAR UNSAFE HORN DID NOT SOUND BUT THE HORN WAS WORKING. WHEN A MAINTENANCE FACILITY IS SELECTED, PERSONNEL FROM THIS OFFICE WILL OBSERVE A FUNCTIONAL CHECK OF THE LANDING GEAR RETRACTION SYSTEM. END OF STATEMENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
