## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AFTER TAKEOFF FROM MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA, THE CREW NOTICED A FLUCUATION ON THE LEFT ENGINE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE. THE POWER ON THE LEFT ENGINE WAS REDUCED TO IDLE AND THE AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO MINNEAPOLIS TO LAND. UPON LANDING, THE LEFT ENGINE WAS SHUT DOWN. COMAIR MAINTENANCE DISCOVERED THAT THE ENGINE DRIVEN PUMP CARBON SEAL, PART NUMBER 5018T49P01, WAS LEAKING. THE SEAL WAS REPLACED, ALONG WITH THE AIR STARTER. THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE. COMAIR SUBMITTED AN SDR, NUMBER COMA0260393, DATED 06/28/2002.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
