## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON JULY 2, 2002 AT 0830 PDT UNITED 876 MORIOKA, JAPAN-SEA, LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. AFTER TAXIING TO GATE S-10, THE GROUND CREW CALLED FIRE EQUIPMENT DUE TO A BRAKE FIRE. ONE OF THE GROUND CREW ATTEMPTED TO PUT THE FIRE OUT WITH AN EXTINGUISHER BEFORE THE FIRE EQUIPMENT ARRIVED. CHEMICALS FROM THE HAND EXTINGUISHER BLEW INTO THE GROUND CREW MEMBERS FACE AND INTO THE RIGHT ENGINE. THE INJURED PERSON WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL HOSPITAL. THE BRAKE ASSEMBLY'S ON THE RT MLG WERE REMOVED AND REPLACED. SIX WHEEL AND TIRES WERE REPLACED. THE RIGHT ENGINE WAS INSPECTED VISUALLY AND WITH A BOROSCOPE FINDING NO CONTAMINATION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
