## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT WAS PLANNING TO LAND AT KSNA TO PICK UP A PASSENGER WHEN THE LANDING GEAR FAILED TO EXTEND NORMALLY. PILOT ABORTED THE LANDING AND CIRCLED FOR MORE THAN AN HOUR IN THE VICINITY OF THE TORRANCE AIRPORT WHILE HE ATTEMPTED TO EXTEND THE GEAR BOTH ELECTRICALLY AND MANUALLY. HE ALSO CONTACTED HIS MECHANIC WHO IS BASED AT SOUTHWEST FLITE CENTER AT TOA FOR ASSISTANCE. AFTER ALL OF HIS ATTEMPTS TO EXTEND THE GEAR WERE UNSUCCESSFUL, HE NOTIFIED THE KTOA ATCT THAT HE WOULD LAND GEAR-UP AND WAS CLEARED TO DO SO. THE LANDING RESULTED IN MINOR DAMAGE TO THE BELLY AND BENT PROP TIPS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
