## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON JULY 10, 2002, AT 11:25, EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME, A STINSON 108-2, N390C, WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED WHEN IT STRUCK A PARKED, YAK-55 AIRCRAFT. DURING AN ATTEMPTED TAKEOFF FROM LINCOLN PARK AIRPORT (N07), LINCOLN PARK, NEW JERSEY. THE CERTIFICATED PRIVATE PILOT RECEIVED MINOR INJURIES. VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED AT THE TIME. NO FLIGHT PLAN HAD BEEN FILED FOR THE FLIGHT, FROM LINCOLN PARK TO (N72) WARWICK, NY CONDUCTED UNDER 14 CFR PART 91. DURING THE TAKEOFF ROLL, THE PILOT FELT THE AIRPLANE WAS NOTACCELERATING NORMALLY. THE PILOT "GOT IT OFF THE GROUND" BY PULLING BACK ON THE YOKE, BUT STILL FELT THE AIRPLANE WAS NOT ACCELERATING NORMALLY, SO HE RAISED THE FLAPS. THE AIRPLANE DRIFTED OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY AND SETTLED INTO THE YAK. THE AIRPLANE THEN CONTINUED UP AN EMBANKMENT, AND CAME TO REST PARTIALLY ON A ROAD. ACCORDING TO THE PILOT HE ATTEMPTED TO TAKE OFF WITH ONLY LEFT MAGNETO POSITION. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB NYC02LA136](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/NYC02LA136), Jul 10, 2002: Stinson 108-2 (N390C), Lincoln Park, NJ, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to abort the takeoff when diminished performance was noted. A factor was carburetor icing, accumulated before the takeoff attempt.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
