## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON JULY 20, 2002 AT 1208 EST, A BELLANCA 8KCAB, N4134Y, REGISTERED TO STEVEN D. POLLAK PERFORMED A FORCED LANDING IN A FARM FIELD IN BUTLER COUNTY, OHIO WHILE ON A PLEASURE FLIGHT. THE PILOT/OWNER CIRCLED A FARM FIELD WHILE TRYING TO CORRECT THE ENGINE PROBLEM BY ADJUSTING THE MIXTURE/FUEL PUMP BUT THE ENGINE QUIT. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED IN THE FARM FIELD AND HIT A 30 INCH HIGH METAL FENCE AT THE END OF THE FIELD. THE AIRCRAFT FLIPPED UP ON ITS NOSE AND HIT THE LEFT WINGTIP ON THE GROUND. AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE TO: ONE PROP BLADE, ENGINE COWLING, LEFT WING TIP, BOTH WHEEL PANTS. NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED BY THE PILOT (A CERTIFIED FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR).

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
