## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT WAS DEMONSTRATING AN EMERGENCY DESCENT TO LANDING AT THE FALSE RIVER AIRPORT (HZR). DURING THIS MANEUVER THE PILOT NOTICED THAT HE HAD MISJUDGED HIS ALTITUDE-VS-DESCENT RATE. UPON NOTICING THIS, THE PILOT ADVANCED THE THROTTLES AND PLACE THE AIRCRAFT IN A NOSE UP ATTITUDE IN AN UNSUCCESSFUL EFFORT TO REDUCE THE RATE OF DESCENT OF THE AIRCRAFT. THE AIRCRAFT THEN TOUCHED DOWN CREATING A HARD LANDING CONDITION. THE PILOT THEN COMPLETED A SUCCESSFUL GO-AROUND TO THE NORTH OF FALSE RIVER AIRPORT AND RETURNED TO BATON ROUGE METROPOLITAN AIRPORT (BTR). THE POSTFLIGHT INSPECTION REVEALED THAT THE L/H PROPELLER BLADES WERE BENT. HARD LANDING INSPECTION REVEALED NO FURTHER DAMAGE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
