## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) WHILE MAKING AERIAL APPLICATION THE PILOT PULLED OUT OF TURN TO ALIGN WITH FIELD. JUST AFTER THE TURN THE PILOT NOTICED THAT HIS AIRSPEED WAS TOO SLOW. THE AIRCRAFT SNAPPED TO THE LEFT, ROLLED ONCE AND HIT THE GROUND AT ABOUT A 45 DEGREE ANGLE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB FTW02LA221](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/FTW02LA221), Jul 29, 2002: Grumman G-164A (N48523), New Roads, LA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain adequate airspeed resulting in an inadvertent stall/spin of the airplane.

## Other reports on N48523 (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19850611023929A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19850611023929A), Jun 11, 1985: Scwzer G164A (N48523), Paragould, AR, Destroyed. Wing struck power pole during emergency landing after power loss. Fire destroyed engine accessories.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
