## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 2, 2002, AT 1150 EDT, A DEHAVILLAND DHC-8-102, N829EX, FLIGHT 3950, OPERATED BY ALLEGHENY AIRLINES, ON A FLIGHT FROM ROCHESTER, NY TO WASHINGTON, MD, THE FLIGHT CREW EXPERIENCED INDICATIONS OF #2 HYDRAULIC SYSTEM LOSING ALL FLUIDS DURING TAKEOFF. THE AIRCRAFT CIRCLED TO LAND AT THE ROCHESTER AIRPORT. THE PILOT DECLARED AN EMERGENCY LANDING. FIRE AND RESCUE RESPONDED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE AIRCRAFT TAXIED TO THE RAMP WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE AIRCRAFT TECHNICIANS FOUND A HYDRAULIC LINE BY THE FLAP MOTOR LEAKING. THE HYDRAULIC LINE WAS REMOVED AND REPLACED. THE #2 ENGINE HYDRAULIC PUMP WAS REPLACED. AN OPERATIONAL CHECK WAS SATISFACTORY AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE. THIS INCIDENT IS CONSIDERED CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
