## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT REPORTED THAT WHILE ON FINAL APPROACH TO RUNWAY 27, THE AIRCRAFT'S DESCENT RATE INCREASED. THE PILOT ADDED POWER, HOWEVER THE DESCENT RATE WAS NOT ARRESTED. THE AIRCRAFT COLLIDED WITH A FIVE FOOT TALL FENCE APPROXIMATELY 150 FEET SHORT OF THE RUNWAY SHEARING OFF THE NOSE GEAR. AIRCRAFT SUBSEQUENTLY CONTACTED THE GROUND AND NOSED OVER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA02LA143](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA02LA143), Aug 3, 2002: Aero Commander 100 (N3766X), Quincy, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain the proper descent rate during the descent for landing. A proper glide path was not attained, inadequate remedial action, and a fence were factors.

## Other reports on N3766X (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19931012043289I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19931012043289I), Oct 12, 1993: Slinds 100ACMDR (N3766X), Anaconda, MT, Minor damage. Appears pilot made a hard landing. Nose gear and propeller damaged.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
